Once again Notts RBLR will be putting up our stand as the invited Military Charity for this event – Great response from the public on our last visit in January. We have been advised though that this one is extremely busy so we will probably be placed outside the venue – Suits us as we can put more bikes on the stand and put on a full spread if you lovely people can come and support us and help man the stand as usual – Early start though guys (sorry Yvonne) as we have to be set up and no vehicle move by 08:30 ready for opening to the public at 09:00 – As mentioned it’s a very early start for some and I do genuinely apologise (hence its only twice a year) but going by the last event we were packed up and leaving by 14:00hrs and home for Sunday Dinner – I think this one may be a little later if the weather is good. If outside unless we can blag entry there is a possible door charge to enter the venue inside – unfortunately the organisers have a strict two free passes only for exhibitors/sellers
Suggested RV(s): For those living near me wishing to go en-mass to Newark: ASDA Fuel Station, Northern Bridge Road, Sutton-in-Ashfield. NG17 2AH at 06:30hrs
At Venue: McDonalds, Lincoln Rd, Newark, NG24 2DB at 07:20hrs for ‘early’ breakfast then arrive at showground as a group.
** Please let me know if you are attending, which RV and if it’s your intention to bring your bike so I know how many bikes we have – If outside not an issue but if inside bike space is very limited – Many thanks **
Another date in for the diary for Notts RBLR supporting the efforts at the request of the local Legion branch attending – They have requested Rider aid and bikes to support their stand at this annual vintage vehicle rally – Great chance to come and have a nose at some classic cars and bikes!
RV will be at the Legion stand at 10:30 (subject to change once official detail received),
Gate entry staff will have been advised that RBLR members do not pay as you’re on the stand

Farnsfield RBL have invited Notts RBLR to bring along our stand and bikes to their annual Armed Forces Day celebrations. The event officially starts at 15:00hrs in the afternoon (these timings may alter) with period re-enactors, a beer tent, children’s activities and, later in the day, two live groups and a disco, finishing around 11pm – 11.30pm. I thought we could arrive and set up our stall until late afternoon/early evening but those wishing to stay for the live music in the evening have been invited to do so. Once again looking for support for a couple of hours whilst the stand is up and running
Newark has been appointed the lead town for Armed Forces Day celebrations for the county of Nottinghamshire. Notts RBLR have been invited to participate. Newark Council will be providing both a stall and hard standing for the bikes and wish us to take part in the parade. This will be a busy day for us so please attend if you are able to as help will be needed on the stand. This will also definitely raise the profile of the Sqn within our County so hopefully the recruiting numbers too. Details are still to follow so please watch this space for updates
There will be a parade involving serving Armed Forces personnel, veterans (including Riders – all members, not just veterans) and cadets. There will be musical entertainment and stalls.

Bilsthorpe Branch nearly folded a couple of years ago and Keeley (their Branch Chair) has been working tirelessly to revive the branch and the Legion presence within this small once mining community – She has reached out to the Notts Sqn of the RBLR to ask us to put up our stand and ride some bikes through the village at their first Community Fete to raise Legion awareness and help promote recruitment (for both the local branch & RBLR) – Notts Sqn have said we’d be delighted to help! –
